WASHINGTON COUNTY ANTIQUE TRACTOR & EQUIPMENT CLUB

GENERAL RULES: Tug Pull and Speed Pull 

1.         The "Washington County Antique Tractor and Equipment Club" and/or the property owners or members of said groups are not responsible for any accidents or damage. 

2.         To be eligible to compete in any pulling event, except for the Waterford Fair and Washington Co. Fair pulls, held by the Washington County Antique Tractor and Equipment Club requires ($15.00) current membership in said club.  

3.         Spectators and pullers not directly involved with the pull shall remain a safe distance from the track.  

4.         All Club pulls are held as scheduled, starting with a drivers meeting fifteen minutes before the starting time of the first class.  

5.         Entry fee is $10.00 per entry.  

6.         Any puller under the age of 18 must have written permission of a parent or guardian, and the parent or guardian must be present in order for that person to enter and pull.  

7.         NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED.  

8.         Open to any age tractor.

9.         Wheelie bars are mandatory for all speed pulls and highly recommended for all tug pulls.  This rule does not include the two Fair Pulls.  Minimum requirements for the wheelie bars are as follows: 10" maximum above ground, the back of the wheelie bar is to extend 5" behind the tire radius, pads will be at least a 5" square, spaced a minimum of 20" from outside of each pad, stabilizer bar system must be able to support the weight of the tractor in the heaviest class pulled. Jacking up the pad so the tractor is completely off the ground is a good test of the strength of the system's support ability. Track judges reserves the right to perform this test at its discretion.  

10.       Driver shall remain seated during the pulling attempt; with one hand on the throttle, clutch, or steering wheel and shall operate his/her tractor in a safe and orderly manner at all times and will not speed both on and off the track.  

11.       Going out-of-bounds will result in no distance for that attempt.  The tractor wheels, not the sled is judged.

12.       If anything falls of the tractor from the time of being hooked until the time of being unhooked, that tractor and driver will be disqualified for that         attempt.  

13.       Track judges shall be appointed by the executive committee and the judges' decisions are final.   

14.       The hitching point must be at least 18 inches behind the center of the rear axle.  

15.       Contestants will provide a 3 inch hole for hitching, with no more than 1-1/2 inches of distance between the rear of the hole and the rear of the hitch.  The hitch must be stationary in all directions and remain stationary in all directions during each pulling attempt and the hook and chain must hang freely.  No three point hitching allowed unless it is a component of the original equipment, i.e. Farmall Fast Hitch.  No direct axle hitching will be allowed.  Stabilizers or turnbuckles are allowed.  

16.       The announcers stand will be exempt from any disputes.  All questions will be handled on the track.  

17.       There will be a committee of five elected track officials that will handle all tack disputes.

20.       Tractors with two drivers will be allowed to weight for the heaviest driver only.

***Rules may only be changed or altered at the club meeting held on the first Thursday of the month of November at a site to be announced.

 

TUG PULL RULES

21.       Sign-up for each class will close after the last hook on the first weight of each class. 

22.       Pulls will be held on the following dates, starting at the times listed in the schedule.

23.       Classes will be: 3,500, 4,500, 5,500, 6,500, 7,500 and 8,500 LB. unless otherwise specified. 

24.       All rear tractor tires shall be of the farm type, rotate in the correct direction and of normal wear. Tires shall not be altered in any other way.  No cut tires, chains, duels, 4-wheel drives or steel wheels will be allowed.  Tire size will be a maximum of 18.4 x 38.  

25.       Two drivers will be allowed per tractor per class, except for the Waterford Fair and the Washington Co. Fair pulls, and can be the same person. Only one driver will be allowed at the Waterford Fair and the Washington Co. Fair pulls, with the exception of the 3,500 LB. class.  Only one place money, per tractor, per class.  

26.       Distance of the pull will be 15 feet.  Two attempts will be allowed per weight on the sled.  The first attempt must be made in pull order and in the direction of sled travel.  The second pull can be taken immediately after the first in the same direction as long as the sled is inside the end boundaries., if the sled has been pulled past the end boundaries with less that a full pull then the pull hooked to the sled can take a second attempt in the other direction or pass and pull in reverse order in either direction.  Drivers CAN NOT drop in position on second attempts. 

27.       Track distance and track width will be determined by the judges.  Stakes will be placed on both ends of the track to mark the end boundaries.  When any part of the sled goes past        the end boundaries, the direction of the sled will be reversed.  The entire sled, including the hooking eye, must be inside the end boundaries in order for the sled to be pulled past the end boundaries on any one attempt.  

28.       A driver that is late for the start of a class may join the class at the bottom of the order, providing no weight has been added to the sled.  After this attempt the member will pull in regular rotation. 

29.       Both front wheels shall touch the ground once during each attempt.  This rule applies only to full pulls, not partial distances.  

30.       AFTER A TRACTOR HAS BEEN PARKED IN THE STAGING AREA, ADDING WEIGHTS OR BRACKETS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF A TRACK OFFICIAL.  THE MOVEMENT OF EXISTING WEIGHTS WILL BE PERMITTED, EXCEPT AFTER THE LAST HOOK.  

31.       The first seven tractors will be accompanied by a track judge and are to have weight and drawbar height checked.  Any violations will result in disqualification.  If there is a disqualification, finishing places will be moved up for all tractors that still qualify.  

32.       ANY TRACTOR LEAVING THE TRACK AREA WITHOUT A JUDGE WILL             AUTOMATICALLY BE DISQUALIFIED.  

33.       Front weight brackets and weight must not measure more than 12 feet from the center of the rear axle to the front of the weights.  

34.       Drawbar height will be UNDER a 16 inch gauge for the 3,500 LB class and UNDER an 18 inch gauge for the 4,500, 5,500, 6,500, 7,500 and 8,500 LB classes and UNDER a 20 inch gauge for the 11,500 and 13,500 LB classes.  Only one attempt to back under the drawbar gauge and NOT TOUCH will be allowed; except when on the infield track or a cinder track, then two attempts can be made.  Random checks of the drawbar height may be required by the track judge. Random checks will be announced from the announcer's booth, determined by a timing devise. The tractor hooked to the sled or backing up to the sled will be required to be checked when announced.  An over height drawbar will result in immediate disqualification of that driver of that tractor in that class.

35.       Pay-back per class for of the club pulls will be: 1st  -  30%, 2nd  -  20%, 3rd  -  10%.

 

SPEED PULL RULES 

36.       Three beep rule.  

38.       Drawbar height will be under an 18" gauge in Division I  and under a 20" gauge in Division II. 

39.       Can use TA, Multipower and etc.  

40.       Pay Back is: 1st  -  30%, 2nd  -  20%, 3rd  -  10%  

41.       One money per tractor per class.  

42.       Weight classes are: 3,500, 4,500, 5,500, 6,500, 7,500 and 8,500.  50lbs scale allowance.  

43.       Each tractor and driver are required to have a weight and drawbar check immediately after each attempt.  If not, then that driver will be disqualified.

44.       If the sled operator changes the sled after the first puller, that puller must again be the number one puller.  

45.       A driver can make one restart if stopped within the first 75 feet of the track.  

46.       Front weight brackets and weight must not measure more than 12 feet from the center of the rear axle to the front of the weights.  

47.       Track width will be determined by track officials 

48.       There will be two drivers per tractor.  The second drivers will pull in the same order as the first drivers after every tractor has pulled once.  Sign up for a class will end at the beginning of the previous class.

DIVISION I  

50.       3 MPH (3500-6500)#, 4 MPH (7500-8500)#  

51.       Maximum tire size:  3,500 - 6,500  15.5 x 38 and 7,500 - 8,500  18.4 x 38.  

52.       All rear tractor tires shall be of the farm type, rotate in the correct direction and of normal wear.  Tires shall not be altered in any other way. No cut tires, chains, duels, 4-wheel drives or steel wheels will be allowed  

DIVISION II 

53.       6 MPH.  

54.       All rear tractor tires shall be of the farm type, rotate in the correct direction.  No chains, duels,   4-wheel drives or steel wheels will be allowed. Any cut with a max 18.4 x 38 tire will be allowed

            All others in the class will receive 5 hook Points  

56.       A tractor must be hooked to and attempt to move the sled to receive hook points.  

57.       Disqualified tractors will receive 5 hook points only.

59.       Each tractor will receive points according to how it actually placed in any sanctioned class where it was pulled. 

60.       Points follow a member's registered tractor(s) and the driver does not have be the same for a tractor to receive points  

61.       Members' tractors will accumulate points in all class entered.  

62.       A tractor will only be awarded one first or second place points champion per season. If a tractor wins more than one points championship it will be awarded the championship in the lightest class. Actual first place winners will be awarded and the where the are open slots tractors will move up to fill those slots.  

63.       Points champion will only be awarded to tractors that participate in three or more pulls.  If there are no tractors that meet this requirement, a points champion will not be awarded. All the pulls of the season including rain dates will count towards the final points total.  

64.       The number of points awards presented per weight class will be based upon the number of eligible tractors, but not to exceed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

65.       2012 season awards - Points Champion only will be awarded.
